To ensure the best Delta experience for our clients we have implemented two different styles or means of exploring this unique eco system. Due to the changing water levels in the Delta and dry seasons we will either explore the Delta on a Mokoro (canoe) or on a 4×4 open vehicle game drive.
Mokoro: Today you will experience a unique way of travelling into the Okavango Delta with a mokoro. The mokoro is used by local people as means of transport. You will be transferred to the ‘’polling’’ station either with a motorized boat or a 4×4 vehicle depending on the water levels of the Delta.
A mokoro is a traditional dug-out canoe that seats two people. The mokoro is steered by a ‘’poler” standing at the back, manoeuvring the mokoro downstream with a pole, very much like the gondoliers in Venice.
Once you are comfortable and laid back in your mokoro, the slow and tranquil journey into The Delta begins. Gliding along on the quiet water you will have an unlimited source of opportunities to take exquisite photos of your surroundings. The duration of the mokoro trail depends on the time of year and water levels of the Delta. You will stop for lunch at an island and enjoy a nature walk of a few hours. Then you head back to Maun, again in your mokoro enjoying the last hour or two on the water while the late afternoon sun starts heading for the horizon.
The Delta is usually at its lowest point from December to May
4X4 Open Vehicle Game Drive in Moremi Game Reserve: Departing from Maun early morning, we are destined for the Blackpools and Xini Lagoon areas in Moremi Game Reserve.
Once past the Buffalo Fence and inside the Delta area, 50km from Maun, we start our Delta experience. You can expect a full day of exploration in the search of wild animals, interesting and varied landscapes in this untamed African bush. Lunch will be done en-route and you will have the opportunity to take exquisite photos as Moremi is well known for teeming bird life, elephants, buffalo, hippo, lion and if you are lucky leopard (including various antelope species).
What makes Moremi unique is that it was the first tribal land to be proclaimed by a local African tribe in 1963 as a wildlife sanctuary.
During the dry season, a congregation of all bird and wildlife species, along permanent rivers and water holes makes Moremi Game Reserve one of the most unforgettable wildlife experiences!
This experience will only be conducted if the water levels are too low for our travellers to have a proper Mokoro Delta experience. The Delta is usually at its lowest point from December to May.
Africa4us is deeply committed to protecting the environment and we make sure that our tours reflect this commitment. During the years of conducting tours in the Delta, we have experienced that the human footprint being left behind have a negative effect on this extremely sensitive ecosystem therefore, we do not include an overnight experience in the Delta. We believe that our included Delta experience give one the same adventure with less impact on the environment.

Simply the Best! Well done Africa4US!
TripAdvisor review: Africa4us
My husband and I have joined many guided tours over the years (large group, small group and private tour) to various countries. I must admit that Africa4US is simply the best tour company we have ever dealt with. Last August, we visited 7 African countries over 48 days (DIY in Cape Town; Africa4US from Namibia to Victoria Fall; a small group safari tour in Kenya and Tanzania and a private tour in Ethiopia), amongst all, we enjoyed our 17 days combo trip with Africa4US most because of their top of the range off-road vehicle, professionalism and uncompromising customer service.
The “Premium Overland Safari Vehicle”
After over 10,000 kms road trip in Africa, I can confidently say that you won’t find a better-off overland vehicle than Africa4US’s especially when it comes to Game Drive in National Park. It’s roomy, personalized, clean and air-conditioned. Our driver is See (‘C’), he cared for the vehicle like his own baby – dusted sand off the wheels as soon as we got off for sightseeing, cleaned and deodorized inside every morning! It’s like we’re riding business class on a plane, we enjoyed the whole journey immensely.
Professionalism and uncompromising service
We have Dietmar (‘D’) as our guide. A most acknowledgeable and passionate guide in regards to wildlife and fauna who happens to have an eagle eye to spot animals and birds, so much fun going on safari with him. Both D and C are friendly, attentive and caring. During our first leg (from Windhoek to Windhoek), we only had three participants – my husband, me and M, an 82 years old lady from Portugal. Nothing was too much for these guys, they looked after us just like their own family.
e.g. In Branberg, we had to walk up a barren rocky hill to view the White Lady Bushmen painting (a good two hours round trip in a very hot day). Despite there was a local guide from the National Heritage Site (taking a small group of 5), D decided to accompany M for this trek. While the rest of us did this trip a lot faster, D took time and climbed slowly with M. On our way down, we’re surprised to see C walking up the hill, we asked him why, he said he’s worrying about M under just a harsh condition, he’s taking water up to her (also just in case they need to carry Maria down).
The night in Ghanzi (Kalahari Desert, our second leg), D & C needed to cook a dinner for 10, they could easily do a simple BBQ dinner for the night. Instead, they asked us what would we like to eat and took time to work out a good menu so we all could truly experience a memorable dinner under a starry sky.
Effective communication is important to us and we found Africa4US was extremely responsive to all our queries and concerns. Any issues that we raised James, the Manager would deal with in a prompt and satisfactory manner. For a fastidious clients like us, we would give Africa4US 10/10!
In fact, we wish Africa4US would offer trips to Kenya and Tanzania. Unfortunately, they have no immediate plan to expand their operation over these countries. Anyone who wants to have a memorable and value for money experience in SA looks no further!
Thank you Dietmar, See and James for your passion and commitment to customer service, well done!

A Five-Star Tour, but keep reading…
TripAdvisor review: Africa4us
Africa4Us designed a wonderful 17-day tour of Namibia, Botswana and Victoria Falls which was carried out between 30/7/19 and 15/8/19. Tour leader and guide Dietmar Hammann (Diets) and driver Ciorsdan Hibbert (Cee) deserve a gold medal: these two special, kind people went out of their way so as to guarantee our safety, wellbeing and pleasure. Having said this, I’d now like to add a few constructive comments for future travelers and for Africa4Us, based on my personal experience in this winter tour.
Premium Safari Vehicle
• The truck has 6 seats in each side and 5 large, openable windows. Thus, in case of 12 participants, at least two will be seated next to split windows. A possible solution to this unpleasant situation: clockwise shift of places every two hours.
• The A/C in the truck is equipped with a cooling unit. Since there’s no heating, be prepared – really prepared, head to toe! – for morning temperatures as low as 6C.
• In the afternoon the temp often rises to 27C, the A/C is not very effective, dust forces closing the windows, and the upholstery is smooth plastic. If you tend to sweat, consider wearing a quick-dry T-shirt as an undergarment.
Accommodations
• The subpar rooms in Windhoek Safari Hotel should be avoided.
• For the Damaraland region please choose the magical Brandberg Lodge!
• Elephant Sands is unique – keep it, despite some so-so TA reviews!
• Kasane Travelodge is a standard American motel, not suitable for this tour – drop it.
• Please assign the guide and the driver rooms similar to those assigned to clients. (I’m told that this is the standard policy, except in situations such as ours of peak season and late bookings.)
Food
• While this is not a culinary tour, buffet dinners are good enough, and are much preferred to a-la cart orders. Case in point: in Kasane Travelodge salad starters were served 1 hour after ordering, and my medium-well steak order arrived rare/raw 2 hours later. I declined the offer for a new steak…
Activities
• In Swakopmund I highly recommend the combo full-day activity of AM Seals & Dolphins cruise followed by PM Sandwich Harbor 4×4 rollercoaster-style drive on the mighty sand dunes. The price of N$ 2300 pp is well worth it. Africa4Us – please add this activity to your offerings. (I heard that Mondesa Township and Living Desert activities are very good as well.)
• In Maun I recommend an Okavango Delta Scenic Flight. I paid USD 120 for a 45-minutes flight with Kavango Air. I failed to convince fellow travelers to prefer Air Shakawe (with excellent TA reviews), which offers 60-minute flight for USD 80 (in a full 5-seater Cessna). A longer flight allows a more northerly route, which is significant in the dry season, as there’s more water in the north.
• In Kasane ask Africa4Us for a Chobe river cruise in a small boat. Our large boat was harder to maneuver and it usually arrived last to action scenes, offering suboptimal viewing angles.
• Also in Kasane: In Chobe National Park I recommend against an early morning (6-9) game drive. Not much to see until 7:30 AM, then rush back to the lodge, and arrive in the Botswana-Zimbabwe border at 10 AM, the worst hour (guaranteed 3 hours of standing in line with no shade).
While at it: consider an online application for visa to Zimbabwe (even KAZA visas are now supported online). It will save you some grief.
• A note to Africa4Us: please include Victoria Falls Park as a paid-for activity, as it is clearly not an option but rather a must-see activity.
• I realize that some reviews highly recommend the helicopter ride above Vic Falls for the overall view of the Falls and surroundings. I chose to skip it: a 3500 ft height didn’t appeal to me, especially when considering the cost (USD 180/300 for a 13/25 minutes ride resp.).
Airport transportation
• Arrival is covered by Africa4Us but departure is not. You can purchase this option from Africa4Us for USD 34 pp, and then you may be assigned to a shuttle with multiple stops and predetermined schedule. If your last lodge is in town, the airport is close by, and your return flight is not in the wee hours, a local taxi might be cheaper, faster, more convenient, and at the time you choose.
Toward the end of my comments I’d like to stress once again: this was a wonderful tour and I enjoyed it a lot. Thank you Diets, thank you Cee, and thank you Africa4Us!

A marvellous journey.
TripAdvisor review: 17 Days Namibia, Okavango Delta & Victoria Falls Accommodated Adventure
Africa4us definitely is one of the best choices if you are looking for a wonderful journey in the south part of Africa.
This is my second time to Africa. We had a 17-days overland trip started from Namibia, Botswana then to Zimbabwe. The highlights are demonstrated as follows:
Namibia
We saw lions, black rhinos, leopard, cheetah and many lovely animals in Etosha. I didn’t see rhino last time when I was in Kenya and Tanzania. So, that’s why I feel it’s a highlight to me. And, of course, the Sossusvlei must be another one in Namibia. We bared our feet and climbed up to the Big Daddy in the early morning. The sunshine is superb. You definitely could take lots of incredible pics there.
Botswana
We had lots of game drives and saw many buffalo. The highlights were taking flight in Okavango (called as Kavango in Botswana) and stayed at elephant sands lodge. Flying over Okavango Delta is a fantastic experience. We saw many animals from the sky. For me, the aircraft was not very bumpy if compared to the flight in Nazca lines in Peru. And the price is not very high. The other highlight was the tented lodge – Elephant Sands. You can be totally close to the elephants if you are not scared. And they are very friendly although we know that sometimes they could be very dangerous. I love the place. It seems like elephants are your neighbors. You can say hi to them anytime on your way home (room). Try to imagine that you are very close to a huge moving shadow under the moonlight. It’s just 3 or 4 meters away from you. I tried to take a pic of it, but I was failed. Only keep in mind.
Zimbabwe
The reason why people go to Zimbabwe of course is for the Vic Falls. It’s really amazing. But, it’s a tourist hot spot also. You may expect you can see more objects except people.
The reason why you should choose Africa4us
Finally, the reason to choose Africa4us is the superb staffs. They are concerned and responsible through your whole journey. Especially, I deeply appreciate for the assistance supported by the executive “James”. It’s very complex for a Taiwanese who wanna apply for visas in these countries. But, James provided all the paper works what we need. I suppose even when he was off, he transferred us to his colleagues. You can feel that they work in a team. Furthermore, our guide “Diets” is full of knowledges about animals and environment. The driver “C” is alalalalalways full of energy and generous to show his passion to people. I would not forget the meal they cooked for us, just like in a 5-star restaurant. It could not be a super wonderful trip without them. Special thank to them.
In a word, I highly recommend this journey and this agent to whom wanna go to these countries. And I can’t wait to pick up other itineraries in Africa.

Fantastic trip
TripAdvisor review: 17 Days Namibia, Okavango Delta & Victoria Falls Accommodated Adventure
Recently returned from our wonderful Namibia/Botswana/ Victoria Falls trip which far surpassed our expectations in every respect. The terrain, animals and people seen will leave a long lasting memory.
Our guide, Amanda and driver, Alfred expertly lead us through the journey with great personality and humour. All the the information we could possibly require was always provided and both ensured that we received the very best experiences throughout our trip.
The truck itself was extremely well appointed and surprisingly comfortable despite some occasional very rough gravel roads. It was the envy of many other travellers using much inferior vehicles.
The accommodation was varied and very well chosen. Good quality 3 star hotels and lodges all with individual aspects which often deserved a higher rating. Elephant Sands was particularly memorable.
From our experience we feel sure that no-one would be disappointed in choosing Africa4us which we highly recommend.
