Over 13 days of pure enjoyment as you travel to Kruger National Park, Swaziland and the Garden Route to end in Cape Town.

If you are looking for close encounters with wildlife, this is the perfect tour. Get excited about the big five in Kruger National Park and wind down at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary in Swaziland. You are likely to see numerous impala, zebra, elephant, giraffe, blue wildebeest, rhino, and half-submerged hippos. Look out for cheetah, buffalo and more as you embark on the most thrilling thirteen days of your life. A short 2-hour flight takes you from Johannesburg to the Garden Route where your host will meet you. Spend a night in Wilderness before joining the rest of the group on your way to Tsitsikamma. Visit Addo National Park and Oudtshoorn before arriving in Cape Town. Make use of the opportunity to visit some of the most famous tourist attractions like Table Mountain, Robben Island and The Cape of Good Hope. The V&A Waterfront offers a variety of local as well as international cuisine, that most certainly will tempt your taste buds.

Day1

Johannesburg

Spend the day exploring Johannesburg, South Africa’s largest city, also known as Egoli, or The City of Gold, referring to the gold mining history of this fast-paced city. Book a day or two pre-tour to explore this fast-paced city. A visit to Gold Reef City, the amusement park and museum built on an old mine shaft will give you the opportunity for a ride on the Shaft of Terror, a vertical-drop roller coaster that is known as the tallest and fastest roller coaster in Africa due to its sheer 47-metre drop. For the historically inclined there is the ever-popular Soweto tour or just jump on a Hop-On-Hop-Off bus to discover Johannesburg at your own pace. Please be back in time to meet your group at 18:00. After introductions, your Tour Leader will review the details of your trip.

Day 2

Johannesburg to Nkambeni Lodge

Today you leave behind the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg and depart on the first leg of your journey. We head Northeast to Mpumalanga. Our Safari Camp is situated just outside the borders of the Kruger National Park and features a restaurant, outdoor pool, and a bar/lounge. Sit back and indulge in the beauty of nature that surrounds you.

Day3

Nkambeni Lodge to Kruger National Park

Enjoy a full day’s game drive in Kruger National Park, with approximately 2,000 plant, 53 fish, 34 amphibia, 118 reptile, 517 bird and 147 mammal species ready for you to discover. You will experience first-hand why Kruger National Park is known as the flagship of South African National Parks. In the evening, back at camp you can sit around a campfire with your sundowner and enjoy the African night sounds drifting into the camp area. Book an optional night game drive.

Kruger National Park to eSwatini (Swaziland)

After a final morning game drive in Kruger, we continue to eSwatini for two nights at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary. The journey is just as rewarding as the destination, driving along rolling green hills, vast sugarcane plantations and countless mango trees. En route we will stop at some of the local markets where you can buy colourful batik or beaded jewellery, amongst others. Sometimes animals such as zebra, impala and warthog casually wander into the premises, giving you the opportunity for that unique picture.

eSwatini (Swaziland)

Known as eSwatini’s pioneer conservation area that covers 4,560 hectares, Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary gives you the opportunity to experience some of Africa’s wildlife while on either the back of a horse, bicycle or on foot. Since there are no big predators, you will be safe to walk around and just enjoy the beautiful landscapes and pure, fresh air. Besides all the optional wildlife activities, you can also enjoy a hands-on cultural experience by visiting one of the local tribes. Learn more about the secrets of this small kingdom, such as the traditional but controversial annual reed dance where the king has the opportunity to choose a new wife.

Day7

Johannesburg to Wilderness

An included flight takes you from Johannesburg to George Airport, from where a private transfer takes you to Wilderness, a seaside town in the heart of the Garden Route. On arrival at the guest house your host will assist with any necessary planning and information about activities and excursions in the area. Spend the time exploring the town or just relax at one of the many restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. Your adventure crew joins you the following morning to continue your journey to Tsitsikamma.

Wilderness to Tsitsikamma National Park

We head towards Tsitsikamma on the scenic Garden Route, the stretch of coast from Mossel Bay in the Western Cape to Storms River in the Eastern Cape. The area covers large swaths of indigenous forest, commercial plantation and Fynbos (natural shrubland). The climate is mild all year around, which lends itself well to outdoor activities. Choose from self-guided hikes, black water tubing, Bloukrans bungee, a treetop canopy tour, abseiling and much more.

Day9

Tsitsikamma National Park

This morning we visit the Tsitsikamma National Park. Take the short hike that crosses the famous hanging bridge over the dark and brooding Storms River. Other trails offer the opportunity to search for the Knysna turaco (Knysna Lourie) a beautiful blue and green bird if you want to tick some birds off your birding list. We return to Storm River Village to enjoy various optional activities or a hand-crafted beer.

Tsitsikamma National Park to Addo Elephant National Park

From Tsitsikamma we head East, and our destination is Addo Elephant National Park. Enjoy an afternoon game drive, in own vehicle or do an optional open vehicle game drive. Have your camera ready while looking for elephant, buffalo, lion, kudu, vultures, and many of the hundreds of other species of animals and birds. This area is also well known for the conservation of the endangered Flightless Dung Beetle, one of the largest beetles in Africa.

Day11

Addo Elephant National Park to Oudtshoorn

Today we drive inland through the semi-desert Karoo landscape with its distinctive flat-topped hills, “koppies” and picturesque wind pumps in the distance. Oudtshoorn is the ostrich capital of the world and still carries traces of the ostrich-feather boom. The region is home to the spectacular Cango Caves, Africa’s largest show cave system; an ecological hotspot where three distinct plant biomes (succulent karoo, cape thicket and fynbos) converge.

Oudtshoorn to Cape Town

We return to one of the most popular tourist destinations in Africa, Cape Town via the famous Route 62. Settle in at your hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring this cosmopolitan city. Highlights include Table Mountain, V&A Waterfront & Aquarium, The Castle of Good Hope, Cape of Good Hope just to name a few.
